Life Now

  • I have been coaching volleyball for about three years with boys and girls of varying ages. (Up to Club and High School levels)

  • I work as a manager with the BYU Basketball team.

Sports Experience

  • 7 years playing competitive basketball.
  • 4 years playing competitive volleyball.
  • 2 years playing youth soccer.

My Coaching Philosophy:

Mastery First: When mastery is achieved, the scoreboard takes care of itself.

Love the game: Inspire young athletes to love a sport and they will improve faster.

Teach Principles: I teach correct principles and encourage players to make decisions on their own, giving correction when needed.

Lion Mindset: The lion doesn’t run away from the challenge, be like a lion, own your environment.

Why Parents Trust Mastery Volleyball

At Mastery Sports Club, your child isn’t just learning volleyball—they’re developing life skills. Through small group sessions, we focus on individual attention, high reps, and meaningful feedback. Click to read more below each reason.

Skill Development

We train every athlete in all volleyball skills. Whether they’re new or experienced, your child will grow in technique, game IQ, and position-specific confidence.

We create a positive, focused environment where athletes learn to push through challenges and believe in themselves.

Even in small group settings, your child will learn how to communicate, support teammates, and develop leadership.

With a small coach-to-player ratio, each athlete gets the attention they need to improve quickly.

Parents consistently tell us their kids walk away from each session not just better players—but better people.

What is the training like?

What Are the Benefits of Small Group Training?

Focused Coaching, Shared Energy

Our small group training sessions are designed to give each athlete personalized coaching while still enjoying the social and competitive benefits of training with others. With usually 4–6 athletes per session, players receive focused instruction tailored to their needs—whether it’s improving technique, gaining confidence, or building game IQ.

Because volleyball is a team sport, it’s essential that athletes learn to communicate, cooperate, and compete alongside others. Small group training creates the ideal environment to grow both individual skill and team awareness—preparing players to succeed on and off the court.

The athletes are trained in every volleyball skill. I follow the Brazilian volleyball philosophy, which emphasizes developing well-rounded players rather than specializing in just one skill from an early age. Every athlete should feel competent in all positions on the court, while becoming elite in their primary position. This approach not only builds athletic ability, but also fosters confidence, resilience, and smart decision-making on the court.

Coaching into Mastery

“Mastery is the best goal because the rich can’t buy it, the impatient can’t rush it, the privileged can’t inherit it, and nobody can steal it. You can only earn it through hard work. Mastery is the ultimate status.” – Derek Sivers

This quote transformed my life and I am driven to help others become masters of life and volleyball.
